Fresh and Fruity

Welcome to Robins Fresh and Fruity.  We are going to research and check out fresh fruit, such as that sold on local fruit stands.  One, in particular, is Our Little Orchard - Zion Road, Bellefonte, PA.
                                                       
              It is early in my area, but the above is soon going to be seen in central PA and around the US.   Currently, fresh fruit in PA is not in season in our area, however, in no time we will see sites like this: 


The trees show above are Peach Trees, which will start blooming for 2020 in the next few weeks, and by August actual fruit


The USDA has valuable information on fresh fruit that is very helpful.  Also, you can go online or in Grams Receipt Cards and find a wide variety of ways to prepare peaches.  My favorite is to pick and eat them fresh off the tree.

    Everyone loves our fresh peaches. They are so juicy right after they are picked.

HAPPY EARTH DAY 2021

Happy Earth Day 2021 from  Our Little Orchard  Yes, it is Earth Day 2021, and what a great way to honor the day by checking out some more pictures from OLO: These are a couple taken from Pegs, my BIG sister, and Mrs. Pyle's second-floor window.  Just to give you an idea of how large the zion orchard location is. They cover cherries and pea ches.  You might also catch a glimpse of some pear trees.     As we all know, the apples are just starting to blossom, but they will be outstanding, weather providing.   Chris Pyle is the owner and worker bee when it comes to getting ready for the upcoming seasons.  Here are just a couple of his tools of the trade. A picking ladder is a must.  Unlike your household ladders, it has a single leg on one side to fit into the tree. Very helpful to get to those hard-to-reach fruits.                                 ...

Over the last several months I've learned a lot about OLO (Our little Orchard) and I must say when the weather turns warmer I'll be making a visit to the place I've read so much about! I will be ready to enjoy some "fresh and fruity"!
