So What's up for OLO and Fresh and Fruity NOW

So what's up for OLO and Fresh and Fruity NOW

We've all had to face the fact that the cold weather we had in the earlier part of 2020 has put the kibosh on the peach season.  So what is happening at Our Little Orchard?

Of course, we are all still hoping that that lush golden sweet fruit will surprise us with arising from the ashes, but the chances are slim.  So I decided to do a little investigation on my own as to what happens when your cash crop fails.  😢
                          I am on the case......

Let me say after a personal tour of Our Little Orchard today, 6/18/2020, the peaches do not look great.
too small, too few
However, there are some small ones on the trees that give hope.

And if the crows do not infest,   we may also see a few sour cherries.

Also, the raspberries are starting to ripen, redden, and get luscious.

The apples, on the other hand, seem to be plentiful.  In seeing all the actual fruits, at their current sizes, it is hard to believe how it is all going to grow into mouth-watering treats.

YOUNG HONEY CRISPS

It is not easy to see, but there are several small green apples on the tree pictured.  With help from above and prayers from above, these will turn into this.
YUMMMIE
Pears are the last fruit being covered in this blog.  Yes, I did spy some on the trees.

Red Bartletts
Are they not cute

They are a reddish color as they grow, but to be honest, they get yellow just like all the rest.  In an earlier blog, "Pears a gift from Above," included was a recipe for Pork Chops and Pears.  I made it for myself and shared it with Peggy and Chris.  It really was a hit.  According to the boss lady, we will not have as many pears as in past seasons, but there will be some to enjoy.

So I had a beautiful day with my family and am so thrilled to get to share this all with you.  Stay Fresh and stay fruity.
