It has been a long and ruff time since my last blog post, but like the rest of the world, we are starting to see some changes for the good. Here are a few shots to brighten your day from OLO: Spring Flowers are a sure sign of hope. Yes, those who know OLO may recognize the corner of the fruit display building along with the magnificent Yellow Plumtree. As the lucky sister, I have gotten to see it in person, and if the weather holds out, all those flowers will turn into delicious and yummy yellow plums. Welcome to Robins Fresh and Fruity. We are going to research and check out fresh fruit, such as that sold on local fruit stands. One, in particular, is Our Little Orchard - Zion Road, Bellefonte, PA. It is early in my area, but the above is soon going to be seen in central PA and around the US. Happy April to all you fruity followers. It's time to think more about the upcoming growing season. Once again I am referring to our old friend the Farmers Almanac . For our area, the last frost is around May 1. So its good to start plants indoors to give them that extra time. According to the almanac, you can start cantaloupes, pumpkins, tomatoes, and watermelon now and you can actually start seeds for radish outdoors in a planter or your garden. PSU Extention is another location to get information on such goodies as strawberries.
