HAPPY EARTH DAY 2021
Happy Earth Day 2021
from
Our Little Orchard
Yes, it is Earth Day 2021, and what a great way to honor the day by checking out some more pictures from OLO:
They cover cherries and peaches. You might also catch a glimpse of some pear trees. As we all know, the apples are just starting to blossom, but they will be outstanding, weather providing.
Chris Pyle is the owner and worker bee when it comes to getting ready for the upcoming seasons. Here are just a couple of his tools of the trade.
A picking ladder is a must. Unlike your household ladders, it has a single leg on one side to fit into the tree. Very helpful to get to those hard-to-reach fruits.
Here are two examples of the items needed to keep the bugs, fungus, and other tree diseases from injuring the trees. The first picture is called a blaster (I learned something today), and the green take attached to the tractor in the second picture is the sprayer.
The big guy in this picture is, of course, the orchard tractor. It also serves as a snowplow, which was very helpful this past winder. Also, with the bucket attachment moves dirt and gravel and has a mower attachment. A fun fact this tractor is a 1956 Ford. Chris is a 1956 Pyle.
Hope you all enjoyed today's pictures and that you have a great day. Remember, we must take care of mother earth so she will be able to take care of us for decades to come.
